Geoff Keighley has confirmed his Summer Game Fest showcase will return on 9th June 2022 at 7pm BST / 11am PT / 2pm ET. Featuring a "cross-industry showcase" containing multiple game announcements as well as the indie-focused Day of the Devs, the event looks set to be your main replacement for E3 2022, which has been completely cancelled.
In addition, Keighley reveals there'll be "lots of events coming in June". Could one perhaps be hosted by Sony? We can only wait and see for now. During last year's kickoff show, Summer Game Fest shared our first proper look at Elden Ring. Therefore, the possibility of big game reveals is very much there.
If you'd like to watch the show on the big screen, select IMAX theatres will present the showcase — the same goes for The Game Awards in December. We'll stick to our laptop screens, but this is one digital event to mark in your calendars.

Hoping for PlayStation Showcase
I always get confused over SGF. How is the Xbox + Bethesda show part of Summer Game Fest. Feels like Geoff is piggy backing off other shows to boost the profile of his own. Which is fair enough, but it just makes the concept a little confusing. Either way, Geoff usually has something interesting to show, so i look forward to it!

@anon_pel222 Sony should do their own special showcase in their own time. We do need something fairly soon because they have absolutely nothing announced.

Honestly, at this stage the only game I am interested in is Return to Monkey Island. Please please please be featured. I just replayed the first 3 in anticipation for its release.
I’m hoping for a couple of mic drop moments but it will likely be average at best. I will, however, watch every second of it.
I really hope Sony shows something this ‘E3 season’… I remember last year when they were too absent and a load of Sony fanboys lost their mind and convinced themselves Abandoned was silent hill after Xbox’s decent showing. Those were good times…and I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing the tin foil hats come out again…but it would be nice if Sony took part in something next month. This would be the perfect show to stick something from naughty dog on.

Speaking of watching events at the theater. I remember when Sony still cared about the community and had there E3 event at a movie theater near me. Great memory of Sonys good ole days.
@KidBoruto Hate to tell you this bud, but Sony doesn't give a sh#t if your happy with their communication. Those days were long gone when Shawn Layden stepped down.
